Modal Verb কি?
ইংরেজিতে এমন কিছু Verb রয়েছে যেগুলো সক্ষমতা, সম্ভাবনা, ইচ্ছা, প্রয়োজনীয়তা, অনুমতি গ্রহন বা প্রদান ইত্যাদি ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার করা হয়, এই সমস্ত Verb গুলোকে Modal Auxiliary বলে।

মূল বৈশিষ্ট্যসমূহ:
এরা সবসময় মূল Verb এর (Principal Verb) আগে বসে।
Modal Auxiliaries-এর পর সবসময় Verb এর Base Form (Present form) বসে।
এদের নেগেটিভ করার জন্য এদের ঠিক পরেই 'not' বসানো হয় (যেমন: Cannot, is not)।
প্রশ্নবোধক বাক্য তৈরির জন্য এদেরকে সাবজেক্টের আগে নিয়ে আসা হয়।
